This workshop is directed at industrial professionals and managers and aims to provide a forum to share experiences about materials for lightweight design and to identify the knowledge needed by professionals for proper material selection.
The workshop will give an overview of different materials suitable for lightweight design (including Fiber Reinforced Plastics, Light alloys, and Advanced Cast Irons) and will highlight their characteristics for handling and production – the right way! Presentations will be given by experts from Italy, Spain, Germany and Belgium.
Also, the workshop will give the opportunity to discuss the knowledge/information requirements for selecting the right materials for lightweight design. Your recommendations will then form the basis for a professional training concept in lightweight materials and design.
